Send feedback

Good feedback includes

  • LaZ Visual EQ version and build number.
  • iPhone model and iOS version.
  • Which screen you were viewing: Classic VIZ EQ, Blue Da Ba Dee, Custom VIZ EQ, either VU design, VOX, or 1995.
  • Whether Jeep Mode was on and what the knobs were set to.
  • Mention whether you have a screenshot or short recording we can request if the issue is visual.

Mic permission

LaZ Visual EQ needs microphone access to work. If the meters do not move, check iOS Settings and make sure microphone access is enabled for LaZ Visual EQ.

What audio routes work?

LaZ Visual EQ v1.13 is a microphone visualizer. It reacts to sound the iPhone mic can hear; it does not directly read system audio.

  • AirPlay: works well when your phone is streaming to an AirPlay device and the mic can hear the room.
  • Bluetooth: works when your phone is streaming to a nearby Bluetooth speaker and the mic can hear it.
  • CarPlay: does not work as a direct CarPlay audio visualizer. CarPlay audio is not available to LaZ Visual EQ.
  • iPhone speaker: playback through the iPhone's own speaker is not supported.

The orange dot stayed on

Force close LaZ Visual EQ. If the orange dot disappears, LaZ Visual EQ was the app using the mic. If it stays on, another app has the microphone.

Open-air or vehicle testing

Wind and road noise can push the low bands. Turn on Jeep Mode, then adjust Wind DSP, Bass Keep, and Jiggliness until the display responds more naturally to music.

Battery and heat

LaZ Visual EQ can run a bright, high-refresh visualizer and keep the screen awake. That uses real battery. Longer sessions are best near a charger.

LaZ Player roadmap

LaZ Player is planned as a local and cloud music player with LaZ Visual EQ screens built in. That is the path toward player-driven visuals instead of microphone-only visuals.
