Send feedback

Good feedback includes

  • LaZ Viz version and build number.
  • iPhone or iPad model and iOS/iPadOS version, or Android model and Android version.
  • Which visualizer you were viewing, such as VU, Aftershock, Dairy Freefall, 2002, or another screen, plus portrait or landscape orientation.
  • Whether Jeep Mode was on and what the knobs were set to.
  • Mention whether you have a screenshot or short recording we can request if the issue is visual.

Mic permission

LaZ Viz needs microphone access to work. If the meters do not move, open your device’s app permission settings and allow microphone access for LaZ Viz. Android users should also check that the system microphone privacy control is enabled.

What audio routes work?

LaZ Viz is a microphone visualizer. It reacts to sound the device’s microphone can hear; it does not directly read system audio.

  • AirPlay on iPhone or iPad: works when music plays through a nearby AirPlay speaker and the microphone can hear it.
  • Bluetooth: use a nearby Bluetooth speaker so the device’s microphone can hear the music. Microphone availability can depend on the device, route and other apps.
  • CarPlay: does not work as a direct CarPlay audio visualizer. CarPlay audio is not available to LaZ Viz.
  • iPhone or iPad speaker: playback through the device’s own speaker is not supported. Use nearby external speakers.

Microphone privacy indicator

iPhone and iPad show an orange dot while the microphone is active. Android shows a system microphone indicator. LaZ Viz stops microphone capture when it goes to the background. Close LaZ Viz or revoke its microphone permission to stop capture. If the indicator remains, check your device’s privacy controls to see which app is using the microphone.

Open-air or vehicle testing

Wind and road noise can push the low bands. Turn on Jeep Mode, then adjust Wind DSP, Bass Keep, and Jiggliness until the display responds more naturally to music.

Battery and heat

LaZ Viz can run a bright, high-refresh visualizer and keep the screen awake. That uses real battery. Longer sessions are best near a charger.

LaZ Player roadmap

LaZ Player is planned as a local and cloud music player with LaZ Viz screens built in. That is the path toward player-driven visuals instead of microphone-only visuals.
