Who operates LaZ Viz

LaZ Viz is operated by Merit Advertising Corp. You can reach us through the contact form.

No accounts or cloud profiles

LaZ Viz does not have logins, accounts, subscriptions, cloud sync, or user profiles. The app does not ask who you are, does not store your identity in the cloud, and does not try to recognize you across devices.

In plain English: we do not know who you are from using the app, and we do not attempt to identify you.

Future LaZ Player features

LaZ Player is planned as a fuller local and cloud music player. That is separate from the microphone visualizer privacy model described here. If a future LaZ Player feature uses accounts, cloud libraries, sync, or stored playback data, the app and this policy will explain that before it launches.

Microphone use

LaZ Viz asks for microphone permission because the app needs live sound input to draw equalizer bars, VU meters, peak indicators, and related visual displays.

• Audio is analyzed on your device in real time.
• LaZ Viz does not save microphone audio.
• LaZ Viz does not upload microphone audio.
• LaZ Viz does not use microphone audio for advertising or tracking.

iPhone: the orange dot

iOS shows an orange dot when the microphone is active. In LaZ Viz, that means the app is listening so it can draw meters. The microphone turns off when the app closes or goes to the background.

If the orange dot stays on after you force close LaZ Viz, another app is using the microphone.

Android microphone use

LaZ Viz asks for microphone permission to draw live visualizers. Audio samples and display measurements are processed temporarily in memory on your device. LaZ Viz does not save microphone audio recordings or upload microphone audio. Capture stops when the app goes to the background. A still-visible app may continue listening while a dialog is open, and capture may briefly continue while the screen layout changes.

Android displays a microphone privacy indicator while the microphone is active. You can revoke microphone access in Android Settings.

Settings stored on your device

LaZ Viz may store local preferences such as your last selected display, Jeep Mode settings, jiggliness, Woo level, and whether the app should keep the screen awake. These settings stay on your device.

On Android, local settings also include custom colors, audio-response choices, and reminder preferences. If you choose a custom Dairy Freefall logo from Photos or Files, LaZ Viz keeps a processed PNG copy in its private app storage. The app does not upload that image or scan the rest of your photo library. The custom copy remains until you replace it, successfully reset to the default logo, or remove the app’s local data. Choose “Use LaZ Viz Logo” in Settings to return to the default logo; a successful reset removes the app’s custom copy. Your original image in Photos or Files is not deleted.

Optional Android reminders and external links

Optional reminders are scheduled on your device after you opt in and permit notifications. You can change notification access in Android Settings.

Support, privacy, and other external links may open your browser. Information you submit to the website is separate from live microphone processing and follows the website and contact-form disclosure below.

Keeping the screen awake

LaZ Viz can keep your display from auto-locking while the visualizer is running. This is useful for a display app, but it will use more battery. You can turn it off in settings.

Website and contact-form privacy

This website uses Merit Advertising's Google Analytics 4 Measurement ID G-N70Z9CQNT0 to measure page views and website interactions. Enhanced Measurement may record scrolls, outbound clicks, site searches, video engagement, file downloads, and form interactions when present. Google may receive page and referring URLs, browser and device information, IP address, identifiers, and event details, and may set analytics cookies. Merit disables Google Signals, advertising storage, ad-user-data storage, and ad-personalization signals. Website analytics does not receive microphone audio or LaZ Viz app data. The web server may also keep standard request logs for security and reliable operation.

If you submit the contact form, the name, email address, message, optional iPhone model, and setup details you provide are sent to Jotform, our form processor, so Merit Advertising can receive and respond to your request. Jotform processes form responses under its privacy policy.

Contact-form information may be retained in Merit Advertising and Jotform records as reasonably needed to resolve the request, maintain support records, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. You may use the privacy contact form to ask about or request deletion of your submission.

Changes

This policy may change as LaZ Viz grows. If microphone, recording, syncing, or server behavior changes, the app and this policy will say so plainly.
